I love a good thriller, especially when it takes something so normal and reveals its darker underside. Duckworth does exactly that with Unfollow Me.
With the advent of influencers and family vlogging, this novel really makes you think twice about sharing everything online to strangers. The characters we are introduced to are genuinely insane; their stalker tendencies had me taken aback (but in a good way). Watching them behave so eccentrically and justify it was so intriguing! It’s a different perspective, for sure, one that I found fascinating.
I love the shifting in POVs as the story progresses. It kept me on my toes, wondering what new revelation would be discovered. The twists and turns were really unexpected and I was engrossed until the very last page.
I was mostly satisfied with the ending. I just wanted a little more for Lily’s story. It’s the only thing that had me slightly disappointed in an otherwise great thriller.
So to sum it up: this is a fast-paced, well-written thriller with plenty of insane characters. Highly satisfying and I am looking forward to more by this author!
