There was a time when I was obsessed with Wiccan books. Any book that described anything about it would capture my interest. I don’t know when I stopped devouring books in that genre. This is the first “Wiccan” book I’ve read in a long time. And it was definitely a good one to start with!
1628 is a turbulent time in Wessex and Bess is soon about to find out for herself. When her mother is accused of being a witch and is sentenced to death by hanging, Bess knows that the crowd will come after her. And the only person who can help her is Gideon Masters, a warlock who promises to unlock powers inside of her and makes her immortal. But everything comes with a price and when Gideon demands payment from her, Bess runs away, determined to hide from him forever. Now, in modern England, Bess is trying to make a quiet life for herself. For once, she feels safe, safe enough to let her guard down. Giving Gideon the perfect opportunity to strike….
I really enjoyed this book. It was well written and had a good story plot. It had a lot of romance but it wasn’t very graphic so I enjoyed it. I liked how it skipped between past and present; it almost gave an impression of multiple stories being told in one story. All in all, this was a really good read and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good witchy novel!
Happy reading ~
Lovely. .
