When I first read the teaser on the back of the novel, I knew I had to read this novel. It sent chills down my back and I could envision it going in so many different directions. As expected, I would never have guessed the ending. So without further ado, here is the review:
Losing a child is always hard. But losing a child who has an identical twin and not being able to tell which one is dead? That is something else. A year after Lydia’s death, Sarah and Angus have decided to move to an isolated place called Torran Island with Kirstie, Lydia’s twin. This is the fresh start that they need, a change from all of the grief. But when Kirstie claims that they have mistaken her identity and that she is truly Lydia, their world comes crashing down once more. The more time Sarah spends with her daughter, the more she begins to suspect that something happened that fateful day when one of her daughter’s died. And she will do anything to discover the truth.
It wasn’t as shocking at the end. There was a huge buildup that just fizzled out for me. Instead of being some crazy big conclusion, it ended up just being a really sad and unfortunate twist of fate. I’m a tad bit disappointed because I expected something a little scarier at the end. But it was still a good novel and the end results were still devastating enough to pull at my heartstrings. Read this novel if you want a thriller that makes you weep.
Happy reading ~
