One More Run by Matthew S. Cox

I received this novel as an advanced copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Kevin is tired of being a Driver, who has to do all sorts of shady jobs for a mere handful of coins. He longs to own his own Roadhouse, and is counting how many runs it will take until he can retire…. and then a strange woman comes up to him, begging him for a ride to Harrisburg. Reluctantly, he agrees to take her there, along with a package so valuable that half the Wildlands come after him. After a lifetime of only having to care for himself, Kevin is beginning to wonder if maybe there is more to life than selling food, booze, and weapons to reckless people. When the strange woman’s past catches up to them, Kevin must decide if he will continue to pursue his dream of a Roadhouse, or go for something he had never known before – love.

While the premise for this story is interesting, I was unable to get into it, and so did not finish this book. It’s not that the book wasn’t written well, but it just wasn’t my style. I don’t want to say any more about the novel, especially since I didn’t get through it and that would be very unfair to the author and his story. Thank you to the publisher and the author for giving me the opportunity!

Happy reading ~
