Doll by Nicky Singer

This book is about Tilly whose life has been torn apart. Her mother just committed suicide in front of her and now, all she has left is a doll her mother made for her. This doll is made of many pieces of her mother’s clothing, each reflecting a part of her mother. And it talks to her, loves her, and guides her through the obstacles she faces. But Jan Sparks, a classmate of Tilly’s has seen the doll, too. And he knows it is evil…

This novel is for teens. But that doesn’t mean it is childish in any way. It has great depth in character and it gives you the chance to put all the pieces together. It grows on you and you grow with it. I’ll get one thing out of the way: this isn’t some horror story of doll possession or anything although it may seem that way. Give it a go. You may surprise yourself in what you discover!

Happy reading ~
