Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman

I AM BACK WITH MY OBSESSION FOR NEIL GAIMAN! I had to wait 4 months to get my hands on a copy of this novel; clearly I am a dedicated fan! Anyways, I don’t want to waste any more time so here is my review:

Richard Mayhew is a young London businessman with a boring and ordinary life. He has a fiancee who loves to take control of his life (which he is perfectly happy with) and a nice apartment to live in. But when Richard encounters a girl bleeding on the sidewalk, he impulsively decides to take her in and help her. This act of kindness changes his world forever. Richard finds himself in a different London, where everything he thought he knew doesn’t exist and no one can be trusted. Will he manage to get back to the world he left behind?

This little synopsis does not do this novel justice. Once again, Gaiman creates a fantastical world in which everything is magical and terrifying and exhilarating all at once. Every character is unique; you can never take anything for granted. Everything flows coherently and is just crazy enough to keep you interested. I sincerely hope that this novel will one day have a sequel; the author hinted at returning to this world he created someday and I shall hold onto that until he does! Another spellbinding story from a remarkable author that you won’t want to miss!

Happy reading ~
