I first read this book in elementary school and I found it gripping and suspenseful. Unfortunately, I was unable to get my hands on the rest of the books in the series and so, I forgot about it. Imagine my surprise when I was reminded of it as I passed by a library window. I borrowed it on the spot and just finished rereading it so here goes my little shpeel!
The story is about Janie Johnson who lives a perfectly normal and happy life. Until she sees a picture of her 3 year old self on a milk carton indicating that she is a missing child. Now, Janie finds herself doubting who she is and wondering whether her parents are truly her parents or whether they were her kidnappers.
I won’t lie and tell you that this is an adult book. It is a slightly juvenile/teen novel. But it’s a good one. The emotions are believable and the plot moves quickly enough, leaving you guessing the whole time. Even though I’m reading it now as someone who is much older than a 12 year old, I still enjoyed the book. Hopefully, you will too!
Happy reading ~
